Inevitably, we will all encounter one person or another who makes our work life unbearable. It is all when and good when you and that person do not need to interact with each other. However, nowadays, you never know when interactions between you and the disliked co-worker will arise due to teamwork and interdepartmental needs. 1. Set Boundaries
Basic human interaction demands respect whether to a colleague, superior or even someone beneath your ranks. If you feel that the way you are being treated does not conform to how you ought to be treated, then address the issue and speak up. Believe in yourself and be assertive enough to demand respect when it ought to be practiced.
Should this step prove difficult, you can initially start with smaller steps such as trying not to be a people pleaser and really expressing what you feel. Set the boundaries however small your initial steps may be.
2. Be Assertive

On the other hand, if you feel that the attack is really unwarranted, speak to an individual of higher authority to ask for assistance.
4. Getting Help
If you’ve done all you can to avoid being the subject of unwarranted attacks from a co-worker but it still wouldn’t stop, it may be time to call the attention of a human resource representative. They are better equipped to deal with the situation especially when you feel that your work performance is being affected.
