Negative feedback from customers has become quite the norm in recent times. However, our concern is to transform the negativities into positives. Being afraid of them or falling back on receiving feedback will only push you back and make you a vulnerable company in the industry. Take these feedbacks as your customers telling you how can you can do better and get their services (along with their referrals) back. Rule of thumb – learn the good and bad things about your company; do not ignore the negatives.
Being told how well you’re running the company is always good. However, that doesn’t really help you get any better which is where the negatives play their part. Once you’re told where you are lagging you will immediately get your heads together and work to achieve the goal where you see that customer smile, again. This cannot be emphasized enough; negatives are your opportunities to improve as a business.
If you own a small business and you’ve got exceptional customer service, congratulate yourself as that can give you the upper hand over big names. Often times, the big names tend to ignore customer service as an integral part of an organization. And if you’ve captured the market with your service you’re bound to have returning customers.
Dissatisfied customers tend to scream quit often and can voice their displeasure via social media for the whole world to see. Your immediate duty is to first apologize to your customer and then immediately make this a private affair. Do not let this go viral into public if possible. Offer your genuine suggestions to help them out and fix the problem. Accept any suggestion your customer offers because this can go a long way in repairing the relationship and keeping the customer. Sort things out reasonably and keep all employees in the loop and work together to eliminate further problems.
Customer reviews and feedback are becoming an important part of every business. Your survival is based on these reviews so take good care of your customers and they will keep coming back.
